Kings of Leon - “Stormy Weather”
Kings of Leon have released a brand new album, When You See Yourself, their first full-length project since 2016. The family band – brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and cousin Matthew Followill – have come back more energetic and soulful than ever before.
Apart from their other eighth records, “Stormy Weather” is a rich and invigorating song that discusses wanting to be with a girl who’s “chasing through the night out there on your own.” The track’s uplifting beat is similar to that of their hit “Sex on Fire.”
While keeping the style of their Nashville roots, the Followill’s also work to create a contemplative approach to their music that isn't as direct as their previous works.
“We’re a lot more youthful on this record” states Nathan, which says a lot considering the band has been creating music for 18 years now. The multi-generational attraction derives from their style that “comes from their heart,” and focuses primarily on the fairytale aspect of life.
The band is excited to finally be producing again after a much needed break, and they created music that definitely does not disappoint.
Kings of Leon still have much more in store for their fans, and cannot wait to take on major stages once the global health situation allows them to.
“All the time that we spent out there, we didn’t realize exactly what we were missing,” explained Caleb. “I want to go out there and live to the fullest, and really drink it in and enjoy every moment of it this time. And hopefully, we’ll still be saying that 20 years from now.”
