Songs You Would Have Skipped

Every drop, I’m highlighting my favorite new releases that I’m guessing you skipped. Enjoy the gems.

KIRBY - “Boyz II Men”

KIRBY is a R&B queen. Her voice is perfectly high pitched yet smooth like butta. On this track, she’s preaching to the choir, singing “I’m so tired of men acting like boys.”

If you like what you hear, definitely check out “Apple (Remix)” ft. Pink Sweat$ and “Velvet (Remix)” ft. Lucky Daye. You may recognize them from some Chop N Drop playlists; they were two of my favorite songs from 2020.

Tommy Newport (with EARTHGANG) - “Stargazer”

Ok seriously every song EARTHGANG is featured on is fire. The duo successfully elevates each project they are a part of, whether it’s with the other members of Spillage Village, Louis The Child, Sinhead Harnett, or apparently, Tommy Newport. This UK born, Wichita-based alternative artist is serving emotion-filled, impressive vocals, that pair spurring well with the sprinkled rap verses.

Ritt Momney feat. Claud - “Set The Table”

Helloooo Ritt Momney. I’ve been bumping to him since he dropped his beautiful rendition of “Put Your Records On,” and almost exactly a year later, I still think his name is hilarious. This latest single is a completely different vibe - it feels like 90s punk rock meets modern alternative, and I’m really loving it. It’s perfectly angsty. I especially love that he tapped Claud, a Songs You Would Have Skipped alumni.

P.S. To my loyal choppers, if you ever discover some hidden gems yourself, shoot us a text. We’d love to hear <3
