Fousheé and Lil Wayne slow it down on new single “gold fronts” and suddenly I’m obsessing over Lil Wayne like it’s 2011.
Fousheé deserves much more recognition than just her TikTok song “Deep End,” which has come around at least twice for different trends. Her voice is so smooth with a tone and rasp that is perfect for soul-ish R&B songs.
After Fousheé was featured on Lil Wayne’s track “Ain’t Got Time” earlier this year, she told Zane Lowe in an interview that she reached out to Weezy on Instagram DM and they got their second collab going.
“Gold fronts” is one of my favorite songs that has dropped in 2021. I love hearing Weezy with an alternative artist and Fousheé does, too. She shared that his verse reminded her of her childhood, driving around blasting and screaming music with friends.
She said “I thought it was the most beautiful verse I heard from him in a long time. I thought he really put his heart and soul into that. And it was a different side of him that we haven’t seen in a while.
This duo looks absolutely iconic together in the music video. They have great chemistry and the sex appeal is real.
Our generation has added some heavenly sounds into modern R&B and Fousheé really kills it. And after hearing “gold fronts,” I want a soul album from Lil Wayne.
