Yung Bae - “Disco Body Parts”
I swear I haven’t heard AWOLNATION’S name since “Sail,” and the subsequenting memes, until now. Yung Bae has teamed up with the rock band for “Disco Body Parts.”
Yung Bae is an Oregon producer famous for future funk. Future funk is a subgenre of electronic music that started in the early 2010’s. It is defined by its slowed-down, chopped and screwed samples of smooth jazz, elevator, R&B, and lounge music from the 1980s and 1990s. Yung Bae is known for his samples of 1980s Japanese pop music and visual art style.
“Disco Body Parts” exudes the future funk style and complements the early 2000s rock vocals of AWOLNATION. It starts off with an old vinyl filter, setting the authentic disco vibe. The bassline is funky and upbeat, complementing a steady nu-disco house tempo.
The track is about love and the body parts involved in sex. “Disco Body Parts” is full of cheeky innuendos and double entendres. It's quirky and fun, a lot like the producer that makes this disco magic.
This track is the first single for an upcoming album that Yung Bae announced late last year via Twitter.
He goes on to reveal that his upcoming project could contain up to a whopping 25 to 30 songs. “Disco Body Parts” is an exciting preview into (most likely) Bae 6.
