Claud - “Guard Down”

Claud Mintz is a 21-year-old, non-binary, indie pop artist from the suburbs of Chicago. This track is one of the many that caught my attention off Claud’s newly released debut album, Super Monster.

This is also the first release on Saddest Factory, the new imprint label from Phoebe Bridgers. Mintz takes on an honest and witty journey of self-discovery filled with glistening melodies and smart, heartfelt lyrics.

Rockie Fresh, tobi lou, Jeff Kaale - “Gucci”

Rockie Fresh is Rick Ross' protege. Hailing from Chicago as well, he’s been making music consistently for more than 11 years, but he’s still more or less unknown. This single features fellow Chicago rapper tobi lou and 22-year-old Lofi R&B artist Jeff Kaale. This track is seriously fresh, pun absolutely intended. It’s chill but pleasantly bouncy and serves as a reminder to rise above the bullshit of the past.

Best Frenz - “Better Moments”

Best Frenz have expanded their EP 30% Off with the deluxe version, 30% Off (Now With 25% More!). No this is not an infomercial, it’s merely a clever title for a collection of dynamic bops.

Daniel Armbruster (Joywave) and Jason Suwito (SirSly) make up the powerful alternative duo Best Frenz. Our lovely writer Stevie Kane has had her eye on them since their formation in June, when they dropped a dope four-song EP. Now With 25% More! is exactly as advertised, offering one new song, “Better Moments.”

This frenzship is bringing out some of the best independent strengths we’ve heard from Joywave and SirSly in the past. It’s filled with unique beats, electrifying ballads and just the right amount of angst and edge.
