Louisville-born rapper Jack Harlow has risen to superstardom in 2020, primarily due to the massive commercial success of hit single “Whats Poppin,” that was later remixed with added verses from Lil Wayne, DaBaby and Tory Lanez.

On Friday, he released his debut studio album That’s What They All Say. The album release caps off what was a wildly successful 2020 for Harlow: A number one hit, a star-studded remix, an appearance on the XXL Freshman List, a debut album and what would have likely been a very successful accompanying tour are just some Harlow’s 2020 achievements.

Reflecting on his rise to fame, Harlow says, “It's funny. Every level up just normalizes everything. You see a place you want to be, and you're like, if I could just be there, I would feel on top of the world. And then you get there and you're like…

Reflecting on his rise to fame, Harlow says, “It's funny. Every level up just normalizes everything. You see a place you want to be, and you're like, if I could just be there, I would feel on top of the world. And then you get there and you're like, what's up there though? So you just keep looking up the hill, and that's a blessing and a curse. It can be unhealthy. But I feel like that's what's gotten me this far is I want so much more than this right here.”

Jack Harlow might come across as goofy looking white guy, but don’t get it twisted, he is an uber-talented rapper - and his album showcases it.

He pays tribute to his midwestern roots while reaffirming his status as an A-list rapper – and that he has nowhere to go but up. He discusses his newfound money and fame, success, love life, his hometown, his relationships with other celebrities and more. It is really a glimpse into the life of a white boy in a field dominated by black men and women. The album features Lil Baby, Big Sean, Chris Brown, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and others.

All in all, it’s a pretty impressive body of work for being a debut project from a twenty-two year old artist. His wordplay, flow and versatility are similar to that we would expect from veteran rappers; Harlow is a definitive frontrunner of the next wave of big-time rappers.
